Coconut Avocado Hair Smoothie

I absolutely love an easy self-care DIY. 

Taking time out to treat yourself to a little pampering is so important! It helps us to pause and take a deep breath, and remember that feeling good matters. When it’s a DIY that means smooth, silky hair, it’s even better!

I found an amazing recipe for deep conditioning, and I’ve started to incorporate it into my routine regularly to keep my hair healthy. I am excited to share it with you so that you can experience all the benefits, too!

Here’s what you need for your own coconut avocado hair smoothie:

Mash up half of an avocado until it’s pretty smooth.

Add in a cup of coconut milk and a tablespoon of your favorite oil.

I love jojoba oil, but you can use fractionated coconut or olive or sweet almond, too!

Next, if you’d like an extra boost, you can add in a few drops of hair healthy essential oils like Lavender and Rosemary!

Once everything is well combined, massage the mixture into your scalp and work all the way down to the ends of your hair. Wrap your hair in a warm towel or cover with a shower cap, and grab your favorite book to enjoy for 15-20 minutes. Once the mask has been sitting there for a bit, shampoo and condition as you normally would. 

Enjoy half an hour to yourself – you deserve it!
